This is a beautiful example of value contrast. The Deep dark value of the city buildings resting upon the lighter hues of the sky and water contrast so well that this photograph could almost be mistaken for painting.


This angle of an Ocean Dock is an example of leading lines. The blue arrows show how the sharp angles of the dock lead ones eye to the end of the dock.


This photograph is a perfect example of the rule of thirds. The Boat takes up 2/3 of the right side of the photograph and the sun is set on the left side of the picture in the remaining third.

The girl inside the house is perfectly framed by the contrast of the dark lighting inside the house and the bright color of the house's exterior and outside.


This photo is an example of the rule of thirds and points of power. The Eye is almost exactly at the pictures upper left point of power. The Persons skin is shown in the left 2/3 of the picture compared to the fabric on the other third of the photo.
