1) This photo was found on minimalistic photography.

2) The Photographer is Michael Kenna.

3)This photo was taken in Deckchairs, Bournemouth, Dorset, England in 1983

4) The reason why I really like this picture is because it sets a mysterious and almost earie mood. The different simmulations of Line in the water, the clouds, and glass are beautifully balanced by the even placement and the blended values. The contrast of the dark smooth pavement and the ocean waves gives the sense that the rectangular objects leaning against the railing are a doorway into a seperate world; it is impossible to not ponder about escaping in to the drift of the waves.

5) I would imagine that the lighting used for this photograph was natural due to the very low contrast within it. The colors are quite blended and subtle.

6) The photographer did a wonderful job of making a simplistic everyday setting into a mysterious story with the use of contrast in value and texture. The smooth surface of the land right alongside of the rocky waves and the darkness of the railing in front of the misty hues of the water make this picture interesting. The photographer also did a wonderful job of incorporating the rule of thirds into this photograph. The picture is split into three areas of different colors and the railing is right in the middle of this photo aswell; it is a picture not just a snap shot.

7) I think the photographer is trying to communicate that the most simple everyday things can often be the most mysterious, interesting, and beautiful moments we have. I think that the photographers message is often pushed aside, but this picture does a good job of distinguishing the natural beauty of the simple lines, values, and mysteries of everyday life.
